About Neverland
A competitive pony program and riding school built on horsemanship, hard work, and a genuine love of the sport.
Our Story
Competition Is the Standard
Neverland started with a handful of ponies and a belief that the discipline, care, and work ethic required to compete at a high level could shape young people in ways that go far beyond the ring.
Today, our Show Team competes on the A circuit across Quebec and Ontario — qualifying athletes for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, competing on the HITS winter circuit in Ocala, and sending ponies to Pony Finals in Kentucky. That competitive standard is the foundation everything at Neverland is built on.
Every program we offer — from a four-year-old's first ride in Pony Preschool to a Pre-Competition athlete learning to jump — follows the same curriculum, the same expectations around horsemanship, and the same culture of ownership and care. We coach every rider as if they're heading toward competition. Some will. Some won't. But all of them benefit from the structure, and all of them leave the barn with more confidence, capability, and respect for their pony than when they arrived.
Horsemanship First
Taking care of your pony is just as important as riding it. Athletes at every level learn to groom, tack, feed, and care for their horse — not because it's a chore, but because it's the foundation of the sport.
Ownership & Independence
We expect athletes to take increasing responsibility — for their pony, their equipment, and their own development. The barn teaches accountability in a way that few other environments can.
A Culture That Gives Back
Our most experienced athletes mentor younger riders, help at camps, and lead ponies for Pony Preschool. The riders who've come the furthest give back to those just starting — that's how Neverland works.
Head Coach & Owner
Kelly Tellier
“Ever since I was little, I knew that I'd be around horses for the rest of my life.”
Kelly is a mother of three, a high school teacher, and a lifelong equestrian. She founded Neverland to combine her background in education with her love of horses and competitive show jumping — building a program where young people develop confidence, responsibility, and a genuine love of the sport while in pursuit of their personal competitive goals.
Her philosophy is built on the firm belief that for young athletes to be successful in the sport, they first have to feel comfortable and have fun. Trying to force athletic progression in young athletes ahead of enjoyment is like putting the cart before the horse.
This is why Neverland serves young athletes exclusively. This focus allows for the development of an environment and culture that is uniquely suited to the growth of young athletes — which requires a fundamentally different approach than with adults. It's one of the first things you'll notice and feel when you arrive at Neverland.
The Team
Neverland runs on a close-knit group of people who wear a lot of hats — coaching lessons, running camps, caring for ponies, grooming for shows, and mentoring younger riders. Here's who you'll meet at the barn.
